STORY BEHIND "Benvenuti Wine" BRAND
Benvenuti wines are matured in the family winery located in the Istrian town of Kaldir, near Motovun. Family values and traditions are the key “spice” of Benvenuti wine. Livio, Albert, and Nikola Benvenuti took advantage of the benefits of the unique territory in a sustainable way, cultivating three indigenous varieties: Malvasia Istarska, Teran, and Muscat.
The vineyards of the Benvenuti family are located in locations with a specific microclimate - a mixture of Mediterranean and continental - between the sea and the mountains of Čičarija and Učka. The terraced configuration and white soil, as well as the varietal, reflect all the richness of the vineyards. The grapes here take on a character that is reflected in the wine in the emphasized minerality, freshness, and full expression of all the features present in their wines, from basic and aged Malvasia, through fresh and harmonious Teran, to intense and pleasant acid-rich, award-winning sweet wines Corona Grande and Muscat San Salvatore.
The vineyards of the Benvenuti family also cultivate Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, and Merlot, which with Teran gives a blend of Caldierosso, and there is also a catch, an autochthonous Istrian variety planted in small quantities between Malvasia vines. Each Benvenuti bottle is a reflection of philosophy - wine is exactly what the person behind it is.
